Paragon Studio has completed the full acquisition of Gym Marine Limited, the specialist superyacht gym design consultancy. Under the terms of the transaction, Paragon Studio assumes full ownership of the business, including its team, brand and all ongoing projects.
Founded in 2014 by Edward Thomas, Gym Marine has played a defining role in the development of onboard fitness and wellness design within the superyacht sector. Under the joint leadership of Edward Thomas and Guy Royffe, the company delivered bespoke gym installations for more than 80 of the world’s top 100 largest yachts, alongside a significant number of additional new-build and refit projects across the global fleet.
Paragon Studio was formally launched in 2024 by Edward Thomas and creates bespoke wellness spaces and design-led gym equipment for private residential, hospitality and yacht clients. Designed in London, with its bespoke products made in the United Kingdom, the company’s work combines architectural planning with product design and equipment engineered for long-term use. Paragon Studio installations and equipment is already found aboard several leading superyachts.
Following the acquisition, Gym Marine will continue to operate as a trading style of Paragon Studio, with a tightly focused remit delivering gym design consultancy for carefully selected superyacht new-build and refit projects. In this role, Gym Marine will also represent Paragon Studio’s products and design ethos within the yacht industry.
Edward Thomas, founder of Paragon Studio and Gym Marine, commented: “Gym Marine has played a central role in shaping how fitness and wellness spaces are approached onboard superyachts, I am grateful to our clients, collaborators and my business partner Guy Royffe for helping build a consultancy that set a clear benchmark in the sector. Bringing Gym Marine and Paragon Studio together allows us to build on that legacy under one roof and continue delivering considered, design-led gym environments for superyachts.”
As part of the integration, Guy Royffe joins Paragon Studio as Associate Director – Marine. He will oversee all yacht-related projects and lead relationships with shipyards, designers and Paragon Studio’s growing network of yacht industry partners and distributors.
“Joining Paragon Studio allows us to combine Gym Marine’s long-standing design expertise with a fully integrated manufacturing capability,” Royffe added. “This creates a more cohesive offering for shipyards, designers and clients across new-build and refit projects and enables us to continue raising design standards for on-board wellness.”
