California Home Gym

Private Home Gym

Paragon Studio was approached to design and outfit a private home gym in a stunning home in California for the client and their family. We began with a discovery call to understand who would be training in the space, their preferred equipment, the finishes they were drawn to and their wider vision for the room. From there, we guided the client through our design consultancy, covering concept design, design development, procurement, logistics, installation and aftersales.

The client shared a Pinterest board that captured the look and feel they wanted, giving our team a clear direction from the outset. With the equipment wish list, mood board and floor plans, we produced a 2D layout to establish equipment positioning and an initial budget.

Following a feedback call on the first concept, we refined the design with a focus on custom storage solutions and finalising the quantities and weight ranges for the kettlebells and dumbbells. A second revision followed, and by the third, after reviewing our sample finishes, the layout, design and equipment selection were complete.

Oak and steel run throughout the room. Kettlebells, Diabolo Dumbbells and a Folding Wall Bar share the same material palette, while two custom wall storage units keep every piece housed and on display. An Adjustable Bench anchors the strength setup, and leather medicine balls, a skipping rope and cork yoga mats extend the space into conditioning, mobility and recovery.

Beyond the equipment, we provided design inspiration for alcove storage throughout the room, which the client passed on to her millworker so the joinery would sit in harmony with the gym.

Once the design was signed off, our operations team managed fulfilment and planned delivery and installation alongside the client’s site team.

The result is a family home gym where every piece of equipment is chosen for how the household trains, finished in natural materials that feel as much a part of the home as the rooms around it.
